Prescriptions
Repeat prescriptions take 48 hours (2 working days) from ordering to collection, i.e prescriptions ordered Friday will be ready for collection Tuesday after 2pm.
We cannot accept telephone requests for repeat prescriptions unless the patient is housebound or terminally ill.
We are not a dispensing practice and do not keep drugs on the premises.
We no longer accept chemist requests for prescriptions. Patients who require regular repeat prescriptions will need to order these themselves or through a family member/representative.
If a patient received blister packs their chemist can order this as usual.
Electronic Prescriptions
We are now using electronic prescriptions. If you use a regular chemist you can nominate them to receive your prescriptions electronically from the surgery. Prescriptions are ordered as normal (see below) and, once authorised by the GP, are sent straight through to your chemist. There are some exceptions to this, however e.g. if you use any controlled drugs these will be printed and need to be collected from the surgery. If you are unsure if your medications can go electronically please contact the surgery.
Please note; we are unable to nominate a chemist for you, this needs to be done through the chemist of your choice.
